The perfect song for you (Prompt)

Obviously I had to take advantage of the prompt “SONG” as songwriting is what I do mostly.  The song below was produced out of frustration and cynicism when I wanted to write a song that would appeal to everyone – impossible by the way

It’s hard to make them listen when they’ve heard it all before, don’t want to ram it down their throats, don’t want to be a bore

There’s more to songs than singing, more than notes that can be played, there’s more that songs are bringing when you know the way they’re made

All I want to do is write a song for you, so someone just like me is moved to ecstasy, how can that be ?  I’m tired and frustrated, I think there’s something wrong, oh why, oh why can’t I just write that perfect song

The lyrics and the tune are in my head – I contemplate the music in my bed – I want to give the World a song but in my heart I know that’s wrong ’cause all I really want to do is write the perfect song for you – perhaps that’s kind of sad but true but that’s my only goal

I remember songs that made me tingle, made me cry but lately nothing moves me and I don’t know why

Oh I have lost my appetite, the point has gone at last, impatient with the slower songs and breathless from the fast

All I want to do is write a song for you so maybe you could be enthused with ecstasy, just like me – I’m tired and frustrated, I think there’s something wrong, oh why, oh why can’t I just write that perfect song
